LH, I believe that the USA has such economic strength because of it's lack of taxes and aversion to them. At the end of the day it makes it a powerful nation. So, going by your link and the data presented here:- Taxes as a Percent of GDP Year Amount 1930 3.3% 1940 6.8% 1950 14.4% 1960 17.8% 1970 19.0% 1980 18.9% 1990 18.0% 2000 20.4% It sayes to me vote for Bush.
