Yes, I think we might see machines like you mention in the IA64 timeframe. I was alluding to what I thought the limit would be in MP for Xeon. I'd bet that EMC's 64 way is it, and I really wonder how that will sell.

Scale out is a term that's thrown around a lot now, as well as scale up. If scale out gets more attention from the OEMs and their customers, we might not see > 32 in the future.
