I am not terribly conversant with stadium financing. It is my understanding that with the tax revenue generated, and the city's share of broadcast fees and so forth, it does not take too long before the stadiums more than pay for themselves. Since they are financed through bonds, not general tax revenues, I am not sure how great an impact they have on the average taxpayer. Since anything that will draw people to the downtown area is a net plus for hoteliers and restauranteurs, I am not sure your surmise is correct on how they view the matter. But the main thing is this: the city is trying to build a stadium and save money through corporate sponsorship. That should be a net plus for everyone.......
