Well, the last time I went to buy software was last week at OfficeMax - I bought "JumpStart Second Grade" - not for my own use... but 2 weeks before that I bought a program to make greeting cards. I bought Windows98 SE about 6 months ago to get USB support for a scanner. I would estimate that I buy software at least once a month, and probably 20 times a year. I have no idea if I am typical but when I go to buy software, I see lots of other folks doing it too. And that does not count the stuff I download and pay for - I bought the RealPlayer suite, the latest paperport from ScanSoft, the full version of Adobe Photoshop, and some other programs whose names are now lost in the mist. I always specify that I also want the CD shipped. All of those products seem to me to be substantially better than the freeware versions of the same products, or the free versions of things that sort of do the same job. I also think that people who write software I like deserve to be supported- kind of my "contribution to the Arts".

(bug 14088) (Mac OS) A crash occurs the first time Navigator tries to load a web page containing an applet. Restart the computer; subsequent applets will load without problems. The "label" attribute of the "OPTION" element is not supported. (bug 40545) Multiple "INPUT" buttons with the "type" attribute set to "radio" do not work outside forms. You can work around this by placing any radio buttons within dummy "FORM" elements. (bug 14445) The "dir" attribute is not yet supported in all cases.
