I'll wager the increase in the value of the stock is significantly larger than the difference between the sale and re-purchase price of the covered calls. Also, the loss on that transaction is tax deductible.

You didn't lose a thing. You can't lose a thing. That's the beauty of the covered call strategy.

Notice that the call itself made you money. It was chasing the stock that lost you money. That is why I almost never try to buy the call back to keep a stock.

BTW, NTAP is doing great :) <vbg>
