Did you see the Chinese realize the jig is finally up? I'm sure Bush was pissed to lose the China endorsement.

After four years of a Thousand Points of Blight, even you would be looking for another candidate. Another campaign of smear, innuendo, and mediocrity would definitely not cut it for Bush in four years, when he would have done to the country what he has done to just about every enterprise he has undertaken in public life. However, the congenitally lazy underachiever has not won the election, and substance (Gore) may yet win out over image (Bush). I don't believe the country is yet ready to elevate the truly mediocre (Bush) to the presidency.

I know what will happen if Bush gets elected. He will let everyone else figure out what to do and do all the work for him. And I don't trust those people around him. especially if he gets a GOP congress and/or senate. Hello Dick Armey, Tom Delay, Dick Cheney and all the southern and western conservatives. They will be the ones running our country. Not saying many people in the south aren't the finest human beings in the world. But there is also a tradition of political corruption running through that crowd. The get-rich at the expense of tax-payers crowd. Clinton has kept them in check for 8 years. If they get back in power, prepare for another S+L debacle type affair, huge national debt, the rich and white collar shucksters having a field day. Plus Supreme Court justices who deny a woman's right to choose. Racial tensions again which means more crime. And lots more pollution, mining and clear-cutting. The only thing I have faith in them about it military policy, though they may end up wasting hundreds of billions on a missile defence program which either doesn't work or isn't necessary. Or both. I may get a modest tax cut (assuming the surpluses hold up) but otherwise we'll go right back to the Bush-Quayle world. And a lot of votrs will be kicking themselves. The only good news is it will only last four years. Just like his dad.
