What if one were to sell JDSU shares now
in order to buy SDLI shares?

Would that be smart, or what?

(I don't do math)

whaddiya think?

excellent question...

SDLI is a discount way to buy JDSU if you believe the deal will go through (i believe it will). you will get 3.8 shares of JDSU for every share of SDLI you own.

here's the math on after hours prices tonight:

SDLI = 304.125

JDSU = 93 x 3.8 = 353.4

discount = $12.97 per share of JDSU after deal closes (if you buy SDLI at 304.125 you would be buying JDSU at $80.03 per share if the deal closes) that's a 14% discount.
