Fair enough.

I love the humor in Kurosawa's work and Yojimbo is full of some his best.

Great quote from this article by Stu Kobak on Kurosawa,

"Kurosawa is held in such high esteem by his peers
and film critics alike that in Sight and Sound Magazine's
top ten film survey of 250 critics and directors, an
astonishing ten different films by Kurosawa were
named, a testament to the amazing depth of his screen
output."

Don't like Jules and Jim? Hmmm, it is a very disturbing film. It scares me because I can see myself in it, and er thats not good <vbg>.

Near the end of his life, Huston said that Treasure was one of his favorites because men will watch in 200 years and it will mean exactly the same thing it did when he made it. Lots of great Bogart films to choose from, but African Queen is near the top. I don't rate Casablanca quite as high as you do.

I am going to have to watch C&W again. It has been a long time I think.

Kane, I know everyone says its great and you tend to discount it, but it is so well constructed.

Do you consider Lawrence of Arabia a war movie?

Have a good one.
