Benchmark Testing and World Expos Highly Position ALi as Leader in Revolutionary DDR Architecture

DDR Benchmark Study Shows a Dramatic Improvement in Performance and Power Consumption Comparing With PC-133 Platform

TAIPEI, Taiwan, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Acer Laboratories Inc. (ALi), the world's leading integrated circuit solution provider, continues its success momentum and demonstrates its leading capability in DDR technology through the latest benchmark testing and worldwide showcasing. In the benchmark tests, ALi's DDR systems fully leverage the performance advantages of DDR memory and consumes 47.7% less power than 128MB SDR, proven that ALi DDR chip sets fully, and even more highly, meet the market expectations.

In addition to outstanding testing results, ALi, along with AMD, AMII, Apacer, Iwill, Melco and other TeamDDR partners, showcased the DDR products in the October international expos in the United States and Japan. These live demos have been putting forth the green light that DDR technology is completely ready for the industry that is consciously aware of developing systems with higher performances and power advantages. In the recent Microprocessor Forum in California, the United States, motherboard manufacturers and memory module providers joined hands in exhibiting real motherboards operating with ALi DDR chipsets. These models not only attracted considerable attention but also put an end to the speculation over DDR technology. Also, the entire infrastructure that is required to support DDR is mature enough for both desktop and mobile platforms. Furthermore, DDR is proven to be superior to the PC-133 architecture in performance and power consumption.

In the current World PC Expo in Tokyo, ALi is demonstrating ALiMAGiK 1/MobileMAGiK 1 for AMD Athlon(TM) and AMD Duron(TM) processors. Also introduced Aladdin Pro 5/Aladdin Pro 5M for Intel Pentium(TM) II, Pentium(TM) III, and Celeron(TM) processors. All products are exhibited using live-running motherboards to highlight the superior performance and technical maturity of ALi DDR chipsets. As the most advanced live implementation of DDR architecture in international expos, its superior performance has attracted remarkable attention from media and vendors around the globe.

President of ALi, Dr. Chin Wu said, "There has been wide recognition from major players in the industry that DDR is the mainstream in next-generation PC architecture. ALi is surely confident on the continuing development of DDR chipsets and will keep committing to the most competitive solutions to lead and contribute to the PC industry."

steve, Re: It's sad you're for disarming the public, but you're not for stopping the slaughter of unborn children.

The unborn are not 'children'.

I see both gun control and an individual's control over their reproductive decisions as elements of a civil society.

p.s. Contraception must *really* drive you nuts. Think of the SLAUGHTER of BILLIONS of POTENTIAL CHILDREN.
