*OT* Just saw that my rant made cool post so I think I should say something.

I want to apologize to those I named and the one I did not name for venting that night. I was very frustrated by what I was reading and the total amnesia spreading throughout the boards. There are still serious problems looming out there and the main point I was trying to make was not to get caught up in the short term movements of the markets and forget the big picture.

I should have biten my tongue or given more general examples of the hype going on. For anyone who's toes or egos I stepped on, I am sorry. I will try to get more sleep and excercise some self control in the future.

Paul Shread - Regarding playing options near expiry. Yes very high risk playing expiring month so close. It should only be done with cash you have written off though since the moves are rapid and the head fakes frequent as last minute unwinding is done. I spent today thinking they were trying to hold my stock down for MAX PAIN only to see it rocket up 3 points in the final minutes. Good thing I wasn't playing protective puts on it as I was considering doing so. If you really want an adrenaline rush, play the OEX. That is my favorite vehicle when I am off work and can trade with a full set up but it is a lose big/win big game. With the OEX, you don't have to worry about being excercised since it settles for cash thus saving half the round trip trading fee if you are suddenly in the money. WARNING, the OEX moves after the close so you have to keep watching until 20 after with your finger on the sell button in case they jack it the other way after the close of regular session. They also screw up once in a while. I caught the Ask at a 3 point disadvantage to the close one time after hours and got a partial fill. It was free money. I didn't feel guilty either -ggg-

Good Luck,

Lee
