Too much of the problem for Gore is the backlash over Clintonism. The public may not have wanted to boot him from office, but they would have liked him to resign, and now, well, they want the whole mess to be over.........

He might do something really desperate like shut down the government in the last week and blame it on Republicans. The public will see through the charade of leadership this time though.
