The first thing I thought of was the P3 has hit a wall in speed and performance but they keep trying!

Exactly what management is doing, making their employees beat their heads against the wall.

Intel was capacity limited from late 1999 until recently - now they have new capacity coming on stream - and they intend to put AMD's market share in reverse.
