Yeah, I think it is more complicated than that...

The way I view it is that there is a tendency for things to go the way they are going to go, but that isn't a reason to just sit and pray. It's fine to pray, but you'd better be doing the "due diligence" too. The God that I'm thinking of is there to maybe bring you good luck when you have done everything possible first.

I doubt that a gray bearded man in the clouds is playing chess with us. But, heck, a lot of people do. The intelligence of the universe tends to less obvious than that, IMO. It would be nice if we started with compassion for our fellow man and worked out from there. There is a heck of a lot of suffering and we can all probably do a little to reduce it. Maybe that's how we bring about God's love (by our actions).

we are here for god's amusement. some people call that 'love.' i beg to differ.

Looking at the millions (yes, millions) of people--translated by religious love, I think perhaps we might be far better off with the God of Seeking...than the God of Found.
