Greg, I have not been into too many options on JDSU; stayed mostly in stock. It is a hard one to try calls given how expensive they are --and how little the stock seems to move even on good news. Maybe that is about to change now.

I prefer to buy CSCO or NT calls going into the weekend or possibly pick them up Monday AM. My reason is that anticapation of NT's earnings will push both stocks higher and once CSCO cracks 60, it could move much higher.
I am trying to be less stock specific--lots of semiconductor holders and QQQ (and options on both)---given how many sectors in the Nasdq have been hit so hard---semis have low PEs.

I might consider Jan calls on JDSU since a breakdown of the merger will send it higher and a completion will probably do the same. Now that i think about it, JDSU calls look pretty good for January--maybe the 120s--since the stock has already moved up about $10. Again, I am sticking mostly to the others i listed---in particular the SMH and QQQs.

BTW--it is tough to buy calls now but I think the momentum is picking up on the Nasdaq. The middle east news today did not stop the buyers today although I think many sellers or short sellers thought it would go down. I am hoping for another 200 point plus gain today.
