But we need to be vigilant that lies are not being spread un-contested. I got involved when I started hearing all these character attacks on Gore. Hey, Al may not be the most charismatic guy and has exaggerated about himself needlessly a few times, but he's in general a sterling character, which is why Clinton picked him, just like it's why Gore picked Lieberman. I see Bush's weakness as his character. Polls don't agree with me but he's like a lot of rich kids I grew up with and went to prep school with who expect to inherit power without hard work, get by on smoozing and connections, and let others figure out how to really run things. No doubt Bush has charisma and political savvy but he's not a presidential calibre man. While Gore is so ready for that job. No one could be better prepared. Also when I saw the voting record of Cheney and realized that every player in Bush's camp is from the oil business I realized this was a dangerous situation for America, and especially our environment. And not just our environment but the planet's. If I have no children when I die I plan to leave my money to preservation of the coral reefs. That's how much I care. Every little bit of pollution kills fragile reefs. The oil business running America would pollute oceans and air all over the world. I have other gripes too but that's where my passion comes from. Being upper income the tax breaks don't bother me as much, though I do see they are just doing to add to our national debt and go mostly to those who dont really need it. Bush has even admitted that. A tribute to his teflon charimsa that he could even get away with admitting that. But he does lie about his so-called environmental concerns. His record shows he has zero - nil - and is too lazy to tackle the issue or challenge the hands that feed him. And Cheney at his side will oinly make things worse. Cheney may fly-fish but he's dump on the environment everywhere else but his own backyard. Oil, mining and timber profits, HMO, NRA and deregulating heavy industry. Those are their real priorities. I know this bunch. And who butters their bread. Behind the flag-waving and smiles they're dangerous.
