People need to vote with their feet a little more.

Allow me to rant about Canada for a minute. We have a government who announces a pre election budget that promises 90 Billion in tax cuts. The crowd goes crazy. Now I only pay 47% of every dollar to the government (as opposed to 50%).

In Alberta (my home province) we are running such large surplus and after years of hard core debt paydown, we will be debt free in 2-3 years. We could eliminate provincial income tax. Yay Alberta right? Wrong, like the communist Trudeau of the late 70's the extreme jealousy of the other provinces and the Federal government would never allow us to be tax free.

I was 7 years old when Trudeau initiated the National Energy Program, raising taxes on Oil companies in a booming Alberta, forcing them to sell their oil at depressed prices only in Canada (an export tarrif). They gave huge incentives for exploration in all areas of Canada except Alberta. Oil companies shut their doors and moved on. It destroyed the provincial economy (and almost destroyed my parents finances as well) It was Trudeau who taught me the left's extreme jealousy and hatred of other people's success. Now I see it in almost all Liberals I meet.

I'm shocked at the complacency of most of my fellow Canadians. How can they not understand how criminal it is for someone to steal so much money from them.

Some Canadians are voting with their feet, they're moving to the US. Um, anyone have a greencard I could borrow?

There are many other factors aside from money that motivate people to make certain employment choices.

That's why I stay, as frustrating as it may be sometimes.

Regards
Jay
