Oh I TOTALLY agree that "faith" has a lot to do with investing. That's what is so wonderful about the "Gorilla Investing": the people who are doing that are SO ABSOLUTELY SURE about the companies and the stock of the companies that even if the stock goes down far far far they just hold and wait.
I did that for a while with Dell and Qcom and found I just cannot hold the line...the loss of a huge portfolio with the "promise" that it will come back does not do it for me.
Good for those who can, I admire them. For me, I like the style of someone I was talking to the other day who sells everything every once in a while and just trades a few stocks at a time for several point gains. But you need a good portfolio first to do that.
I also agree that if you have a LOT of money, you can wait through downturns...but you still have to have "faith" because why wait if you are not "sure" your stock will come back.
