RE:"The anticipation of AMD losing the Mhz lead is hurting it's stock price right now. Trust me...

With all due respect I don't agree. The stock has tanked primarily due to market conditions, especially in the chip sector. If what you are saying is true there would be very little beta correlation between AMD and the chip sector/general market and that simply isn't the case"

AMD had very good earnings. Seems to me it should have held up better than most. It hasn't. On the other hand it's impossible break out just how much is due to Mhz...and P4.

RE:"The markets look 6-12 months out."
I don't agree with that either. The markets are driven by herd psychology. The 6-12 months out is an old adage that has almost no basis in fact. According to a Robert Colby and Tom Myers in the Encyclopedia of Technical Market Indicators"

OK how else do you explain the markets factoring in a recession next year while the economy is STILL accelerating? Anticipation and perception are the only things that can explain the markets, IMHO.
So what is the herd mentality reacting to?
Markets tend to lead or get faked out.

RE:"This is what Analysts are looking at.
"Kumar isn't. He told everyone to sell into this rise."

Kumar said he never expected Intel to drop lower than the low sixties high fifties. Now at 37 he's sell the rallies? He also said AMD was roadkill.
Kumar is just getting jerked around and collecting a big salary for it. The Analysts will be even more useless than teats on a boar now that FD has been passed...albeit they may be more dangerous for a while as they try to read CEO's facial expressions to get earnings clues.
