>>I think that Mr. Paul Allen was the real brains behind MSFT's success so this article is of concern to me.<<

blisenko,

If the only company Paul has ever made any significant money in, is Microsoft; and if, he, pretty much on his own and with other than Microsoft personnel has broken even or lost a bunch of money in many other companies,

wouldn't that cause you to conclude just the opposite. That he was not the "brains" behind Microsoft's success?

I have no opinion one way or the other.

Humorous quotes from blisenko:

> I think that Mr. Paul Allen was the real brains behind MSFT's success

Umm. Paul Allen hasn't work at Microsoft since 1983.

> I happen to like Larry Ellison. In fact, I think of him as a role model.

Umm. I think that you better stick to gambling...

Bob - Paul Allen has not been a MSFT employee since 1983, how could he possibly be "the real brains behind MSFT's success" unless you think that success stopped 17 years ago?

I have been unimpressed by most of the business ventures Allen has backed. With all due respect, I don't think that what Paul Allen is doing has anything to do with what MSFT is doing, and has not for a VERY long time.
