I wonder if the law works in the other direction? With all the posts from shorters...

Good thought. It seems there have been several instances this year where shorts have lied/started a false rumor to get a stock to decline. One I heard of this week was stating that EXTR missed its 11 cent whisper number, when the truth was that the whisper number was 7 cents (which they beat). This lie was apparently picked up by CNBC. Combined with an erroneous news item that incorrectly stated that EXTR missed its earnings forecast by 2 cents, and the stock took a harsh fall yesterday.

(Some of us who are naive enough to believe that good triumphs over evil bought some near the lows yesterday)
