Rudedog, I am the farthest thing from a IT person. But in 1984 I was a financial analyst for a fortune 500 company. I wrote a company wide buegeting program, in Basic,that was fully adopted and used while I was employed by the company.

The company stopped using it when I left because it is difficult for another person to pick up a program and understand your logic or they might disagree with it.

In any case, I look back at that as a fun experience. Not bad for a kid making 20K a year. I think they got their moneys worth. Especially when they had to purchase a canned budgeting software package.

Basic was a fun languange but I did not continue with writing code. Stupid me. I invested my time developing, marketing, and selling water filtration products. In the long it has paid off but I look back to what if I...
