Political rivals from the South, the two men had only met once before 1992, the year Mr Clinton, then Governor of Arkansas, picked Mr Gore, then a Senator from Tennessee, as natural ally and fellow policy “wonk”.

Plus he knew Gore was too stupid to ask him what was going on...Call me V.P. and that's all I want.

The more Gore got into it, the more dangerous he became. He began to think he was smart! LOL
