Gottfried, If you haven't read the paper (SJ Mercury News) this morning, you might want to check out the front page of the business section:

Clouds appear on PC horizon

The worldwide PC industry is starting to show signs of softness as the industry enters what is typically its busiest time of the year. Two reports to be released Monday by rival market research firms seem to confirm recent warnings by computer makers of a slowdown, particularly in Europe. The sluggishness could cloud the outlook for the fourth quarter, which is typically the busiest season in the PC industry.

The research firms are Gartner Dataquest and International Data Corp.

While I don't expect any impact from their reports, the info does tend to support taking some caution as we proceed through Q4. I'm not going to go nutz buying the so-called "tech bottom" some folks are proclaiming just yet. (although I must admit to buying some INTC last week).

BTW, nice chart - thanks. It would be interesting to overlay some semi-equip stocks/index as well.

Regards - Dale

Gottfried, one thing I noticed from another of your charts is that bookings are apparently a better buy indicator than sell indicator.
