I, too, stopped by one of the largest Verizon stores in metropolitan NY area. People were looking at Nokia 5158i for its low price (in conjunction with sign-on), but the salesperson indicated that they wouldn't know whether this product would be a success or not until about 2 months from now. Currently, the handset (which came out a month ago) is being so heavily promoted, that it undoubtedly attracted a lot of price-conscious buyers. My impression is that sales of this model passed V's minimum requirements, but they sure aren't flying off the shelves by any stretch of imagination.

In fact, one of the salesperson advised me to wait a couple of months before buying a Nokia trimode as the market reaction to a new product will not "gel" before that timeframe.
