No conspiracy (IMO) but ...

if SEPR heard for the first time about the QTc issue on Wednesday night after the market closed - would they be able to say definitively on Thursday morning that they would not develop R-fluoxetine?

It seems to me such a decision would take some careful thought. So I suspect that they knew of the issue (QTc) even if they heard for the first time Wednesday that LLY would drop the product. Thus, they undertook the examination at the same time that LLY did and once they knew LLY would not develop (Wednesday night) they were ready to announce they were proceeding with R-DDMS and dropping R-fluoxetine.
