If my parents had told me my big stuffed fuzzy bear was my creator I would have believed them (I was only that credulous when I was VERY little- I refused to go to Sunday school at the age of 5 when I realized how silly it was). You think that kind of credulity is a good thing and that adults should be like that? I agree with you that there are adults like that- but they are the problem not the solution. And they tend to want to fight about whose big fuzzy mystical bear is better.
