Collaboration with Access Co., Ltd. on BrowserScope™

corporate-ir.net

BrowserScope™ will combine Kopin's miniature CyberDisplay product with ACCESS' NetFront software to provide an integrated solution for bringing video-enabled Internet access to 3G (third generation) wireless phones, camcorders, personal computers and a range of other devices. By Web-enabling these devices, BrowserScope will create a new communications paradigm for personal digital equipment and consumer electronics.

I guess Dr. Fan wanted to introduce a new "talking point" ahead of the conference call. <g>

Mitsubishi Electric to double mobile phone production

singapore.cnet.com [story 9/28]

Like every other supplier, Mitsubishi is working on Internet-enabled cell phones, a potential application for microdisplays:

Mitsubishi Electric has already teamed up with Intel Corp, the world's largest maker of computer chips, to be ready for increased handset production. The companies announced in May that they will develop a chipset for the next generation of cellular phones, which can send videos and browse the Internet.

John Fan refers to this as the "killer app" for CyberDisplay. I assume that Mitsubishi has been made aware of Kopin's display technology.

Links at page bottom have a bit more on Intel / Mitsubishi.
