if you don't burst out laughing over the pompousness & self-righteous indignation don't waste your time with a lost sheep like me I may be a lot of things, but I'm not pompous you little twerp. The poor, the sick, the afflicted--those that crawl and cry--what are they to a giant like me? You worm. Pompous, indeed! Seriously, catcher: you didn't really burst out laughing, did you? This thread parallels, and mirrors, the reality of humans attempting to adapt and adjust to a global merging of the human race. As we sip our drinks, and engage in banter, people are being killed over religious differences. There is nothing mirthful in that. I think this thread is very tolerant of opposing viewpoints. Personally, I respect those that have come here to put in their two cents, and that includes you. It is because of that respect that we try to follow an unspoken format here--a format that allows us to express honest disagreement with ideas, without condemning the person. It is true that satire, parody, etc. is used to make points...and just to have fun. But if I challenge the Christian God or bible, and if I use parody to enhance my point...it is not to insult the believer. Your God can defend himself. Let us not be silly. Your ideas, on the other hand, are for you to defend or to forego. If you wish to come here and insult my beliefs with your ridiculous God, then WELCOME! Now that you've thrown in some ad hominen, please take your mark and tell us if you have any ideas worth debating or discussing...
