Topic: Misc

*Analyst Question: You spoke about initial penetration into new RBOC's last Q, can you comment on that?
*Answer: Well as everyone knows there are 2 ILECs we have traditionally not sold into. One is international and one domestic. We have products in their labs, in testing. We have not won their business yet.

*Analyst Question: Timeline for VoDSL commercial deployment?
*Answer: We see this area picking up in March 2001, and strong in June 2001. We have been shipping IAD's in October (VoDSL); obviously not commercially. These are lab trials/market trials. We have 3 classes of IAD's already.

*Analyst Question: Guidance?
*Answer: Analyst guidance for EPS has been for .07 to .16 in the upcoming quarter, with a consensus of .108. We are comfortable with that. Analyst guidance for EPS for the fiscal year has been .79-.80. We are comfortable with that.
Comfortable with 20% sequential revenue growth for each quarter of entire fiscal year. Targets are: R&D 10-12% of Revenue, Sales/Marketing 14-16% of Revenue, General/Admin 4-5% of Revenue.

[Comments: .80 would imply .70 more over the next 3 Q's of the year, i.e. .23 a Q if you average it straight-line]

*Inventory: Barely any change, only $1 M increase.

*Workforce increased from 430 on June 30 to 515 on Sept 30. [+85] All new personal were Research and Development. R&D workforce increased from 190 to 275.

[Comments: R&D personel are now >50% of all employees at Efficient]

*Self Install: ILECs are now showing >50% of residential as self install. Residential needs to get to 80 to 90% self install penetration for this to become a mass deployment. On business side self install is much less of a factor due to complexity of networks.

*Soft DSL Modems: Computational power needed for DSL is 100x more complicated than analog. There is a place for Soft DSL but it won't be a large % of overall market. Not a threat.
