Re: Remember - Server chip sets with for Willamette/Foster using SDRAM - will be available from the get-go from ServerWorks...

The get-go for Willamette is supposed to be about a week away - can we quote you on that availability?

If you are saying that the server chipset will be ready as soon as the servers are - well, I can say the same thing about 10GHZ 32-way Athlon systems.

Re: I'd give them [AMD] another year - mid 2002 - before you'd actually see them running 64 bit software.

By that time, my guess is that Intel will have so many variants of of 0.13 micron Pentium III Xeons, Fosters, and 0.13 micron Fosters... [all 32 bit chips]

So you think Intel is pretty much out of the running until mid 2002? And all they'll have worth mentioning by then will still be 32 bits?

I think I agree with you on that one!

RE:"The ClodHamster and SludgePumper are still being designed - and shouldn't see first silicon before mid 2001 or later (I think I'm being generous here)."

Oh really? Suppose you are wrong and we get a Q3, Q4 2001 release of Sludgepumper?

Really Paul, how hard can it be to stick a couple of Athlon cores on one die? You just set the saw blade to cut out two instead of one, eh? LOL...
