I hope you've marked the movie and not the thread.

My point was the difference between intent and the result were the source of the humorous tension in the Producers. In the movie, the subject matter was intended to be offensive in order to create a flop. That offensive nature largely depends upon context and how it is perceived.

I would never say people can't tell offensive jokes or create offensive threads. I also wouldn't go to a thread where people were telling these jokes, puff up and start getting Holier than thou about it.

What I find really troubling is that the charter originally said that "Itsy-bitsy" was "by popular demand" by SGBR. That was a lie. The person who suggested it also started it but rather than admit they were being intentionally inflamatory, went back and CHANGED the charter. It was an idiotic attempt to discredit us with their lack of wit and spine. I would not let that go unchecked. Maybe it was weak will on my part.

My feeling is that if someone had mocked Hitler on his soap box BEFORE he got hundreds of people following him, the Nazi movement could have been derailed.
