The PC isn't dead in terms of sales. But the number of PCs out there will be surpassed by the number of cellular phones in a couple of years, and most of these will probably be connected to the internet using GPRS or UMTS and will do WAP or HTML browsing.

This way, the total summed market share of Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape will decrease. The total market share of Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000 will decrease in favor of Windows CE/Linux/Symbian/proprietary stuff.

Since market standards need to run on most systems, PCs will get less importance as PDAs and mobile phone markets grow.
