Slacker, << I read through the link (which is fast becoming a classic, I've read it multiple times), and am not so sure that 1xEV-DO has been delayed. It sounds like 1xEV-DV has been thrown off schedule by the introduction of the Lucent proposal. I would assume that there is still a possibility that 1xEV-DO (HDR) will still be standardized at the meeting which begins tomorrow in Kyoto. >> I also reread it (once again), and you may be correct. My gut feel is that although DO will precede DV (target for DO set for October, with December publication) and DV in May to complete phase one (I assume a July 2001 publication) that DO could be delayed based upon technology incorporation that will impact DV. Hoping for earliest possible completion to get this show on the road. I personally assume a lead time of minimum 12 months from standards publication to any full scale commercial deployment. - Eric -
