Toying Around With Novell.....

>>Regardless of the potential buyer, I would reluctantly agree that the time has come for Novell to be sold for the sake of the survival of Novell's great technology. The leadership on Novell's solutions must be taken out of Utah and placed with an industry player that can catapult a great story into the industry press and industry shops.

The writing is on the wall - jsut get it done!

My lil 'ol opinions!

Toy:

I never thought this is where this story would end up either.

After all the great promise, hope, excitement and energy from late '97 into early '99 Novell seems to have been beaten up from within by a cast of Old thugs who are too fearful of the present to even think about the future.

You are right. Novell needs to be sold. The sooner the better.

It's really a shame Scott ended up being an apologist for all these folks. I have great respect for Scott. But there's always a point in life where we need to make that "leap of faith" about "what works."

Novell hasn't been working since early 1999. And the more time goes by the more apparent it is that Nelson and his band have been killing this company's spirit.

There was a chance earlier this year when Eric could have stepped into the aftermath of that May debacle to make one last shot at transforming this company. That was a time when there was maximum pain. Alas, Scott jumped back inside and valiantly defended Nelson et. al. and Eric once again seemed to wink and roll.

The rest is history.

And here we are.

Massive, massive potential. But no energy. Not enough vision. And morale is lagging.

I've made my peace on this company.

Novell's future is no longer in Utah. For the culture out there is killing Novell.

Peace.

GO!!
