My old man shoveled sh*t. I use a lot of manure around the flower beds.

But in Ireland the family were grain traders, so he used his income from sh*t to make money in beans and some equities. I paid a lot of attention to that; it was my mother that messed me up. She insisted that I get an education so I would not have to shovel sh*t.

Had I in fact gone out and shoveled sh*t I could be president of the Mid-Am right now. Certainly Kansas City. It was social climbing that did me in; all the time that I spent avoiding shoveling sh*t the other people were making cash money shovelling.

Go figure.
