It is not a marketing ploy Julius. Mr. Brinker was presented with evidence that his previous buy call on the QQQ managed to move the market, more than he dreamed possible. He does not want that result and responsibility.

Well, that was just smoke screen. IF he couldn't move a thinly traded micro cap like UTEK to outperform AMAT in the last cycle (between October 1998 and March 2000), THEN do you think he could really move QQQ that represents trillions in market cap with the money from GNMA investors that listen to his show?

Someone on his staff (who has his very own discussion topic at Brinker.com) has been coming to our chats to tell people that subscribe to the summaries that Bob won't discuss the market because a few people pay some bloke to summarize it. It seems Bob would rather have his show go down the drain than say anything that a big fan of his could "interpret" and sell to a few on the net that think it is worth paying for. At least, this is what this person would want us to believe.

Can you imagine Roger Clemmens not pitching in the Series because newspapers write about the game?

To be honest, I have no idea which idea is more absurd, but I sure don't listen now.. I keep the sound down when in chat and have the football games on instead. I can always turn up the sound if he talks about the market as people in the chat will say something.

The ONLY thing that REALLY makes sense is he is going to retire in December and he is doing all he can to convert listeners to subscribers before he leaves, but ABC says he is just going on vacation in December... He also has a performance clause on how much he gets paid for the BJ Group (he sold his interest in it). He just started to advertise for the BJ group in his newsletter and some have postulated that the idea is to be vague in trading recommendations so people pay for professional management.

Who knows for sure? I remember a couple of years ago when he said his listeners would never have to go more than 2 weeks without his market views (as he updates them on Mondays and sometimes takes weekends off). THIS sure changed.

I have to admit, this whole thing, from way before Justa made his own thread to rant from, sure is bizarre!
