the 80-20 Initiative, a non-partisan, Asian Pacific American
national organization with over 350,000 supporters, announced its endorsement of Al
Gore for president during the 2000 elections. The goal of 80-20 is to urge Asian
Pacific Americans to form a swing bloc vote of approximately 80% of its community in
order to become a vital political force in the outcome of the 2000 presidential election
and future elections.
