Yes. He said it was purely political, and based upon the extreme animus T's tech people feel toward's Q and CDMA. Also, Seybold said that interesting and marketable 3G functions were still a few years away, and that with GPRS, AWE could match any of the offerings of the CDMA carriers for the time being. He did acknowledge that the company would pay a price for its technological hubris when 3G time comes.

In addition quveauriche's later comment (on AWE hating GG baiting of AWE's TDMA), there is an existing marketing alliance between T/AWE and BT, which would presumably support GSM. A tie-up between two dinosaurs, neither of which has a true 3G pathway, at this point.
