my own favored indicator is the C/C ratio--the number of new posts on G&K "Classic" divided by the number of new posts on G&K "Curmudgeon." The norm is well above 1, especially in good times. But as the market tanks the number of Classic posts dries up and the number of Mudge posts stays the same or even rises, so the ratio falls. Anything significantly less than 1 for more than a day means a bottom is near.

Actually I wasn't going to use the statistics as a way to find hot stocks.

I was hoping to use the statistics as one source of confirmation that other investors were interested in the stock. It's not hard to find interesting stocks, its hard to judge the psychology of investors.
