There's no doubt it was written for the Canadian scene. I never got as far as worrying about specific details because of my ambivalence about family. Certainly it helps you understand the consequences of your actions, particularly I think when you are already a dual citizen, as I and my kids are also. With five kids and eight grandkids, when you sit down to evaluate, it quickly becomes clear that, while it may seem to have a life of it's own , the tail can no longer wag the dog. It's the conundrum of a changing world, and as Yul Brynner said in the KING and I it is indeed a puzzlement. I'll have to remember that about knowing the author's name, I often don't pay much attention to hi/her. Cheers
