I just noticed that da DOW 30 put in a LOWER LOW last week. That complements nicely with the LOWER HIGH from a few weeks earlier. Looks like the PPT and the Janus-Fido PT were temporarily snoozing when they let it get lower.

The clownbuck looks unstoppable. How high does she go before AG cranks up the printing presses to 11?

GLW's growth is just starting to decelerate to 20% next year. Not much different from when DELL went from 70% to 30%, and many others.

The other thing that may be going on here is (surprise) technological change. The capacity of any given fiber is being expanded dramatically by those clever, option-laden engineers at JDSU (and all the startups nipping at their heels). I think a lot of fiber was probably dumped in the ground using old assumptions of capacity, and expecting immediate penetration of the market by DSL and cable modems.

Also, the weakness in many of GLW customers does not bode well for them. How can you buy more fiber if you can't issue more debt? And the strong companies may be licking their chops, waiting to pick over the remains of competitors that end up Chapter 11. Why buy fiber at retail if you can pick it up for pennies on the dollar in bankruptcy proceedings?
