Wow! I usually never watch CNBC anymore. . . other financial channels much better. . . but this morning I happened to turn them on. . .and saw Mary Meeker interview. . . and Barton Biggs was just on. I was very unimpressed. First off, they both looked like they had been freshly mugged. I mean they both looked disheveled, stressed, too casually dressed and literally "whipped" . . as though they had been awake for 3 days.

Secondly, they both looked VERY sad. . . . . not a glimmer of happiness on their faces. They were both argumentative and defensive. How much did these guys lose on their bad calls anyway? Perhaps we should take up a donation. >said sarcastically<

But thirdly, they said nothing that was profound. . . nothing that was impressive. . . and nothing that was hopeful. Biggs has the nerve to say "Nasdaq 2500". . . as though he has been correct in any of his recent market calls.

The honest answer for someone in such a position would be, "I don't know". . ."I've been wrong so many times in a row that I haven't got a clue where things are headed" . . .or the most honest answer of all. . ."if I really knew where the markets were headed, do you think I would tell the Individual Investors on National Television?"

Monday, October 23, 2000. . . I declare the day of the Analysts to be over.

Todays interviews were a joke. Nobody listens to them anymore. . . and everyone knows their lines. . . the party is over. . . perhaps that explains their somber demeanor.

>to be read in a jubilant mocking tone, referring to the analyst community and not any particular person<

The ANAL-yst is dead - Long live the INDIVIDUAL!!
