Hi justone,

The interview with Martin Cooper can be viewed as a webcast. Try www.techtv.com/bigthinkers. It is probably not going to tell you much of anything that you don't already know, inasmuch as the target audience is a lot less sophisticated than present company. That said, I did enjoy the little glimpses into Martin Cooper's world that were available.

, so I'm wondering what is the deployment today?
ArrayComm is making money in Japan with a PHS, personal handyphone system and in Southeast Asia with a slightly different system. Not sure how much detail the ArrayComm website goes into this, I recall being somewhat disappointed by their Web presence because it was quite sketchy. As far as deployments of ArrayComm gear in the US, there is none. Mr. Cooper didn't go into the particulars of why that should be.

In fact, when you have a great technology, well hyped, and it hasn't been deployed, you wonder
why. Remember ISDN?
I can still order ISDN at my place here outside of Bend, OR. $80/mo. I considered it as an alternative when I was a bit more remote and decided that the Hughes DirectPC made a whole lot more sense. As far as why ArrayComm's solution isn't common here, I haven't a clue.

The claims to solve density and cell fading
problems is impressive, but maybe the business case isn't there?
I'll report back if I find any 411 along these lines.
