And how else do you keep military personnel in a booming economy? By offering bonuses. Clinton-Gore Administration bonuses. What? Bush is going to offer bigger bonuses? Or is he just all bluster and rhetoric? Of course you need to offer incentives just like Gore wants to pay new qualified teachers bonuses. In a booming economy with low unemployment it's the oinly way to keep the best people in. They could go into the private sector and double their salaries. Bush's criticism ignores the fact that it's the healthy Clinton-Gore economy which makes it so difficult to keep the best people in the military. People only enlist when they can't find better jobs. But we have record low unemployment now. You should commend CLinton-Gore for that not criticize.
