Re: inept.

Anyone who saw Bush with the Republican governors over the weekend will find him the furthest thing from inept. He is charming, intelligent, sincere and a real leader. I have noticed a distinct change in the attitudes that people have toward Bush since the debate. People that I have spoken to have taken a real liking to him and are excited about a politician for the first time in years.

>>>Unfortunately, most people don't agree about Bush being "inept". They give Gore the edge on being a know-it-all but as to honesty and integrity they favor Bush and that is what matters most. JLA<<<

You still don't realize the electorate is being asked to judge a whole man against a half a man.

Gore has been a longstanding career public servant. His public record spans about 30 years. In fact, he is groomed for the presidency.

Bush won't talk much, if at all, about his life pre-age 40. His public record exists for only six years while serving in a weak-governor's position in the state of Texas. And given the horrible health, education, environment and civil liberties record which exists in Texas, Bush didn't do too well using the bully pulpit for effective change. Did he?

Gore is campaigning on a full slate of issues, articulated by himself and his support staff. Bush is creeping along, his past personal life mostly unchecked, running on the Republican platform which he doesn't mention, stealing facimilies of Gore's issues for public consumption, while also trying to invoke a smear campaign of posting that Gore's a liar. This, plus he's still got a tax plan he can't explain.

Bottom line? Bush is the candidate with handlers. Gore is his own man.
