If you were there then you know. Read any book on the S+L debacle and you'll be reminded of the mass cover-up perpetrated by the RR administration. They tried to sweep it under the rug but the damage just got worse and worse. Finally Bush put an end to it. Final price-tag a trillion bucks. Could have eneded it at a hundred billion or so if they hadn't intervened to keep S+L's open. Al this despite the recommendations of examiners. Some examiners even got fired for trying to blow the whistle. Go back and study history, friend.
