You are right, I do not know the specifics of New Hampshire schools. I merely wanted to articulate a few sound principles: do not make mechanical assumptions about funding needs; expect people to take care of their own communities; help those who are pretty sure to be overburdened, so that your aid does the most good.

Our schools are excellent and our per capita spending per student is well below the national average. The picture for our state is quite rosey and threatens to get even better if we can elect a new Repub. governor. JLA
