OT and trying to somehow tie this conversation to the thread <g>: The only thing that comes close to being as anti-intuitive as the mathematics of infinities is statistics (in my opinion.)

There, positive and negative infinities are actually the same point.

mm if you don't mind since I find the discusion very interesting I just have to ask the following dumb question.

Doesn't infinity infer no ending or specific point in time or space so when you refer to positive and negative infinity as the same point on a sphere I'm just wondering how that can be.
