Mike:

I'd second the motion on Armstrong. My observation is that no RBOC would deploy DSL since it
would cause them to cannibalized their own T1 leased line market until they were threatened by
actual HFC cable modem deployment.

That is what happened in SNET/SBC vs. Cablevision.

Although Cablevision isn't ATT/TCI, they followed ATT's lead.

If cable companies had not deployed cable modems, there would be no residential broadband.

The next question is how quickly they deploy:

1. voice
2. VOD
3. work at home video conferencing

Well isn't this special, 90,000 or bust.........

Hi Mike,

What I meant to say, was here's a smidgen of data on the Cable Industry At A Glance:
ncta.com

Now, upon the momentuos occasion of our having crossed the 9000th Meridian, My Fellow Internetizens, let me say, there will be many rivers to cross, many creeks to ford, many skyscrapers to scale, many sewers to smell, many roads to ruin, but we're destined to do it all for the sake of the fiber. And for the sake of finally shutting us up about all this already. May we all live long enough to enjoy the fruits of our endless kibbitzing about how to kibbitz efficiently in the last kibbutz, er mile.

Go not silently into that great future.....

Whatever it might turn out to be.

Or not, as the case may be.

To be.

Or not

To Be.
