I learned years ago that you could ask a repair shop what product do they repair the most of and they often answered "Sony".

This did not mean Sony had the highest problem rate, it meant that most people owned Sony... and so even with a constant failure rate across product manufactures, SONY would look to have the worst quality judging on how many were repaired.

This is from April 2000, but there is an interesting tidbit:

brighthand.com

SNIP:
>Palm lost money (not as much as Newton) each of its first six years in business. It wasn't until 1998 that they turned a profit. But once they were profitable, their net grew and grew.<

SNIP:
>Like Palm in its early years, Handspring is losing money. And Handspring expects to continue losing money through 2001. It had revenues of $15.8 million for the six months ending 1999 and lost more than $20 million. [Note: Handspring's fiscal year begins July 1.]<

Seeker..

First of all, I rarely respond to anyone referring to themselves in third person, but so be it, apparently you're an enigma.

You posted a biased "opinion" piece on HAND, leave it at that. No reason to argue why, you have your own agenda.

I think most shorters are licking their lips on this one.. It's besides the point.. I guess I just think critics, such as yourelf, should present the whole picture, not just the part that grossly supports your slanted view.

Best to you, as you know, I enjoy many of your posts.
